Infiniti has announced that it will build five vehicles in China, for China, within the next five years. The new plan is part of Infiniti’s 5×5 plan, with the QX50 being the first of the five vehicles. Also in addition to announcing the new production plans, Infiniti has also reaffirmed that by 2021 all of its vehicles will be electrified.
“Over the next five years Infiniti is planning to localize five new vehicles in China, tripling our sales here in our fastest growth market, globally,” stated Roland Krueger, Chairman and Global President, Infiniti Motor Company, Ltd. “As part of our roadmap to electrify our portfolio, we anticipate that by 2025, more than 50% of new Infiniti vehicles sold globally and in China will be electrified.”
The Infiniti QX50 will have its Chinese debut next week at the Beijing Motor Show and production is expected to kick off shortly after that at Infiniti’s plant in Dalian, China.
