The current generation Hyundai Santa Fe has only been around for about two years, but Hyundai has decided to give its midsize SUV a big update. Instead of a simple midlife facelift, Hyundai is giving the 2021 Santa Fe some bigger changes, including a new platform.

Hyundai has released a teaser of the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe, which reveals a completely new face with a larger grille and vertical T-shaped daytime running lights. Hyundai says that the new face gives the 2021 Santa Fe a “rugged character.”

The new Santa Fe will be the first model sold in Europe to “based on the all-new third-generation Hyundai vehicle platform.” The new platform also includes hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions. Plus the new platform will bring performance, handling and safety improvements.

The 2021 Santa Fe will go on sale in Europe in September, but a US arrival hasn’t been disclosed.
