The 2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid just debuted at the 2020 Chicago Auto Show. If you love the design of the latest Sonata, but want something more fuel efficient, here’s your answer, since it has a combined fuel economy rating of 52 mpg.

The 2020 Sonata Hybrid is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s mated to an electric motor and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The four-cylinder engine generates 150 horsepower and 139 lb.-ft. of torque, while the electric motor has 51 hp and 151 lb-ft. of torque. Combined the hybrid powertrain generates 192 horsepower and the Sonata Hybrid is rated at 50 mpg city, 54 mpg highway and 52 mpg combined if you opt for the more efficient Blue trim. Those ratings drop to 45/51/47 mpg if you opt for the SEL or Limited trim levels.

The 2020 Sonata Hybrid also gets a cool solar roof system that directly charges the 12-volt and hybrid batteries. The system adds about 2 miles of driving range per day and helps prevent battery discharge from the infotainment or HVAC systems when the car is off.

The 2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid arrives this spring.
