The EPA has released its test results for the 2019 Hyundai Kona Electric and the good news is that the EPA says that it has a range of 258 miles. The EPA’s official rating is actually a few miles longer than what Hyundai estimated earlier this year.

2019 Hyundai Kona Electric

The 2019 Hyundai Kona Electric now lands directly in the middle of the EV battle, since its range is similar to the Chevy Bolt, but still under what you’ll get with the 310-mile range Tesla Model 3. While the Kona Electric can’t travel as far as the Model 3, it will come in significantly cheaper, well at least until Tesla finally releases that cheaper Model 3.

The Kona Electric will go on sale in California and a handful of other states by the end of the year.
