Hyundai has released the first teaser photo of the 2019 Hyundai Kona Electric, which is going to debut on February 27, just ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The much anticipated Kona Electric will arrive in Europe by this summer.

The 2019 Kona Electric will be offered with two battery options, with the biggest battery pack giving the SUV a driving range up to 292 miles (under the new WLTP regulations). Hyundai hasn’t announced what the driving range will be for the smaller battery option.

Even though this teaser doesn’t reveal much, the Kona Electric is expected to look almost identical to the rest of the Kona models. The biggest changes will likely be at the front where the traditional grille has been replaced by a panel that houses the charging port.

The Kona Electric is expected to arrive in the US in the first half of 2019 with a price starting just under $40k. Hyundai hasn’t confirmed it yet, but it’s expected that the Kona Electric will only be offered with the larger 64 kWh battery.
