Hyundai has announced the pricing for the 2018 Hyundai Kona crossover, which is going to arrive in March. The 2018 Kona now gives buyers a smaller option than the Tucson and pricing will start at $20,450.

Hyundai describes the Kona has a crossover for “Urban Adventurers” with its small footprint. “Our new Kona crossover is a stylish and functional compact CUV, tailored to the needs of customers who pursue active lifestyles of all kinds,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president of Product, Corporate and Digital Planning, Hyundai Motor America.

The 2018 Kona will be offered with a choice of two engines. The base 2.0L four-cylinder Atkinson engine packs 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft. of torque, but if you want more power, there’s a 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 175 horsepower and 195 lb-ft. of torque. The 2.0L is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, while the 1.6L gets a seven-speed dual-clutch. Front-wheel drive is standard, but unlike the Toyota C-HR, the Kona is available with all-wheel drive.

The Kona will be available in SE, SEL, Limited and Ultimate trim levels. The SE and SEL models are powered by the 2.0L, while the Limited and Ultimate models get the sportier 1.6L engine. The top of the line Kona Ultimate with all-wheel drive is priced at $29,650 with the destination fees included.
