Hyundai recently introduced the refreshed 2019 Hyundai Elantra, but we have yet to see the updated Elantra Sport. Now we have a preview, since Hyundai has unveiled the updated 2019 Avante Sport, which is Korea’s version of the Elantra Sport.
The 2019 Hyundai Elantra Sport is slated to debut later this month at LA Auto Show, but here’s a preview, since the Avante Sport is nearly identical to the US-spec Elantra Sport. At the front the Elantra Sport stands out compared to the lesser powered Elantra models with its more aggressive honeycomb grille, larger 18-inch alloy wheels, a twin exhaust.
Under the hood the Elantra Sport will continued to be powered by a turbocharged 1.6L four-cylinder with 201-hp and 195 lb-ft. of torque, which is also the same engine that powers the 2020 Kia Forte GT.
We’ll have more details when the 2019 Hyundai Elantra Sport debuts in LA.
