Hyundai has unveiled the all-new Avante in South Korea, which will wear the familiar Elantra badge when it goes on sale in the U.S. The all-new Elantra features an evolution of the Fluidic Sculpture design language, which is now more refined and simpler than before.

The new Elantra’s face is dominated by a large hexagonal grille that is flanked by slim headlights and as you move back the designers paid particular attention to the design of the wheel arches, with the goal of expressing the car’s dynamic road presence. The Elantra’s rear gets narrower taillights and a bold rear bumper. Overall the new Elantra grows slightly, since it is now 0.8 inches longer and about an inch wider.

Inside the interior has also been refined with an emphasis on ergonomics and higher quality materials. It also will feel a bit more upscale, thanks to new rear air conditioner vents and available Harman audio system.
In Korea the new Elantra is powered by a choice of three four-cylinder engines, ranging froma 130-hp 1.6L four-cylinder to a 147-hp 2.0L four-cylinder. Hyundai hasn’t announced the engine lineup for the US-spec Elantra, but it is being reported that a turbocharged engine will be part of the lineup.
Expect the 2017 Hyundai Elantra to debut this fall at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
