Hyundai’s new N performance brand is just getting started with recent introductions like, the Veloster N and i30 N. Now Hyundai has confirmed that it’s working on a new halo model for the N brand.
Speaking to Auto Express, Thomas Schemera, Hyundai’s Vice President of high-performance and motorsport vehicles confirmed that a standalone N brand vehicle is in the works. “The next step in the development of the N brand is a bespoke, standalone model,” Schemera stated. “The whole idea is to strengthen the Hyundai brand, to bring more emotion.”
“I can tell you Albert Biermann [Hyundai’s engineering boss] and myself are interested in hot things and have some ideas in the pipeline for a halo model – rest assured we are coming up with something.”
Although Hyundai has confirmed that it will build a new halo model for the N brand, it hasn’t been decided what type of vehicle it will be. It could be anything from a two seater sports car to a high performance sedan like the Kia Stinger. Don’t expect to see the new N halo model for at least a few years.
