The Hyundai Motor Group and SK On have selected the site of their new EV battery plant, which will supply batteries for Hyundai’s EVs that will be built in the U.S. The new plant will be located in Bartow County, which is located about 45 minutes north of Atlanta, Georgia.

The new plant is slated to create more than 3,500 jobs through approximately $4-5 billion of investment in Bartow County. The new facility will be located at Bartow Centre, a zoned manufacturing and industrial site located on Highway 411, and production of batteries is slated to begin in 2025.

The Bartow County plant follows Hyundai’s other announcement in May where it announced plans to invest $5.54 billion in Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, an EV manufacturing plant in Bryan County. Hyundai broke ground on that new plant in October.
