Honda hasn’t announced it yet, but several prototypes of the updated 2019 Honda Pilot have been spotted testing. The biggest difference that we notice besides the updated front and rear fascias, is the new charging port on the driver’s side front fender, which proves that a Honda Pilot Plug-in hybrid is coming.

Honda hasn’t revealed any information about the Pilot Plug-in Hybrid, but it has been reported that not only is a Pilot hybrid a possibility, but even the Odyssey minivan could get an electrified version. The addition of new Honda plug-in hybrid models is expected, since Honda plans to electrify two-thirds of its lineup by 2030.

Today the only plug-in hybrid available in Honda’s lineup, is the Clarity Plug-in hybrid, but Honda has expanded its regular hybrid models with the addition of the Accord Hybrid and most recently the 2019 Insight. For now we’ll have to wait and see if the Pilot plug-in hybrid does arrive with the release of the 2019 Honda Pilot.

We do know that the 2019 Honda Pilot will arrive with updated styling and will come standard with the Honda Sensing safety suite. Some other updates include a new telematics system and some trim updates.
