Honda has unveiled the ultimate track-ready version of the Civic Type R, the 2021 Civic Type R Limited Edition.

To make it even more ready for the track, the 2021 Honda Civic Type R Limited Edition features lightweight, forged BBS aluminum wheels, which provide a 18 lb. total unsprung weight reduction. Reduced sound deadening materials and removal of the rear wiper, tonneau cover, and rear heater ducts also drops 28 pounds.

The limited edition Type R also gets special tuned dampers and recalibrated steering.

Honda only plans to build 600 units and each one will be painted in Phoenix Yellow. The 2021 Civic Type R Limited Edition also gets contrasting gloss black paint on the roof, outside mirror caps, and intake vent on the hood, plus with a dark chrome Civic badge on the rear hatch.

There aren’t any changes to the powertrain, so the limited edition Civic Type R has the same 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 306 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque that’s mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential. Honda only plans to sell 600 units of the 2021 Type R Limited Edition in the US.
