Honda has announced the pricing for the third generation 2019 Honda Insight, which starts at $23,725. Honda has also revealed that the 2019 Insight is rated at up to 55 mpg in the city and 49 mpg on the highway.

2019 Honda Insight

The 2019 Honda Insight takes a completely different path from the first two generations. The first difference you’ll notice is that the Insight has finally decided to not mimic the Prius, since for the third generation the Insight is now offered as a sedan rather than a dorky hatchback.

The 2019 Insight is powered by a 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine with 151 horsepower and 197 lb.-ft. of torque. Its two-motor design lets the Insight operate without the need for a conventional automatic transmission. The 2019 Insight will be offered in three trim levels: LX, EX and Touring. The LX and EX trim levels are rated at 49 mpg highway, 55 mpg city and 52 mpg combined. The Touring trim level is rated at 45 mpg highway, 51 mpg city and 48 mpg combined.

The Insight’s powertrain offers three levels of regenerative braking performance that can be adjusted with steering wheel-mounted Deceleration Selectors. There are also three driving modes: EV, Hybrid and Engine.

The 2019 Honda Insight comes standard with LED headlights, push-button start, and the Honda Sensing suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies. The Insight EX adds an 8-inch Display Audio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Step up to the Insight Touring and you’ll get leather seats, an 8-way power driver’s seat, Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System and dual-zone automatic climate control.
