Following the announcement about what will power the all-new 2018 Honda Accord, Honda has now released the first official teaser photo of the new sedan. The teaser sketch is a preview of what we will see on July 14 when the 2018 Accord debuts in Detroit.
The 2018 Accord will be “the most fun-to-drive, premium and dramatically styled Accord ever.”
From this single teaser we can see a sleeker front fascia that borrows styling cues from the Civic.
The 2018 Accord will be powered by three powertrains, including two new direct-injected and turbocharged engines as well as the as the next-generation of Honda’s two-motor hybrid powertrain technology. The standard engine will be the same 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder that powers the Civic and CR-V, while the more powerful 2.0L four-cylinder engine is borrowed from the Civic Type R. The two four-cylinders can be mated to either a new 10-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual. The hybrid will get a standard CVT.
What else do we know so far about the new Accord? The 2018 Accord will ride on the same platform as the Civic and even though the turbocharged 2.0L will be borrowed from the Civic Type R, it will be detuned a bit and run regular fuel. You can catch the live debut on YouTube.
