Honda has unveiled two new electrified cars at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The first is the Honda CR-V Hybrid, which is the first ever hybrid version of the popular SUV and the second is the Honda Urban EV concept, which previews a future electric car. At the debut for both vehicles, Honda also confirmed plans to electrify its European lineup.

Honda has set a goal of electrifying ever model that it sells in Europe. “Here in Europe, we see this move towards electrification gathering pace at an even higher rate than elsewhere,” Hachigo-san commented, adding that Europe was therefore particularly appropriate for the global premiere of the “next step” in Honda’s ‘Electric Vision’ strategy.

At a global level, Honda aims to have electrified technology in two thirds of its new car sales by 2030, but in Europe, the target year is 2025.
