Honda is expected to end production of the current Honda Ridgeline pickup in September 2014, according to industry sources. It was originally expected that the current Ridgeline would stay in production until the next-generation Ridgeline arrives in 2016, but now it looks like there will be a nearly two year gap between the two generations.

The Ridgeline pickup was originally released in spring 2005, but the highest sales year was back in 2006 when Honda sold 50,193 units. Since then sales have dropped off significantly with only 14,068 units sold last year. Since demand has been low for the pickup there have been lots of rumors and reports that the Ridgeline would eventually go away, but Honda has remained committed to the pickup. Sales in 2012 were actually up 44.2 percent compared to 2011.
