It’s already been rumored that Honda is working on a turbocharged version of its CR-Z hybrid and now according to Autocar Honda is has put it on the fast-track for production.
Buyer feedback has been strong for a more powerful CR-Z and according to sources the turbocharged CR-Z will be available in two versions: 160-hp and 200-hp. The engine is likely to be a turbocharged 1.6L. Currently the only powertrain available in the CR-Z is a 1.5L that is mated to an electric motor that puts out a combined 122-hp.
The turbocharged CR-Z could debut as early as the 2011 Tokyo Auto Show.
