Even though the CR-Z was supposed to be the spiritual successor to the CRX, it never truly achieved those lofty expectations. Honda only managed to sell about 1,000 CR-Zs in the first six months of this year, which means that most buyers won’t even notice when it isn’t included in Honda’s 2017 lineup.

Even though its sporty styling made the CR-Z hybrid look more fun than the Insight, under the hood, there wasn’t that much fun. The CR-Z’s biggest flaw was that it was powered by an unimpressive 1.5L hybrid system that only generated 130 horsepower.
Now that the Insight is long gone and the CR-Z is following suit, Honda is now focusing its attention on the upcoming Clarity fuel cell, plug-in hybrid and electric models, plus the updated 2017 Accord Hybrid.
