Honda has yet to release a version direct from the factory that packs more than 130 horsepower, but Honda has announced the availability of a new dealer-installed Honda Performance Development (HPD) supercharger kit.
Anyone that’s ever driven the Honda CR-Z hybrid knows that the main thing that it needs is more power, a lot more power. Well Honda has yet to release a version direct from the factory that packs more than 130 horsepower, but Honda has announced the availability of a new dealer-installed Honda Performance Development (HPD) supercharger kit.
The new supercharger is available for the 2013 and 2014 CR-Z and boosts the CR-Z’s power to 197 horsepower. The package includes the HPD air-to-air intercooler, high-flow fuel injectors, an ECU calibrated to meet CARB AT-PZEV regulations with 91 octane fuel and the HPD air filter system. Honda says that the kit will set you back $5,495 before the dealer installation costs. The best part is that the supercharger kit doesn’t hurt the CFR-Z;s 5 year/ 60k mile powertrain warranty.
