GMC has unveiled the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV, which is the next model in the brand’s all-electric lineup. Just like the Hummer pickup, the Hummer EV SUV is ready to take on the trails.
The SUV looks almost identical to the pickup, but it has a much shorter wheelbase, which will make it even more capable when you’re off-roading. It will will also have better departure and breakover angles, in addition to a tighter turning radius than the pickup.
Although it does look like you’d expect from a traditional Hummer, under the hood its powered by a purely electric powertrain. It’s electric motors generate 830 horsepower and 11,500 pound-feet of torque (wheel torque to be exact).
GMC says that it will have a driving range of at least 300 miles and can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds.
Just like the Hummer pickup, the SUV will launch with an Edition 1 version that gets 22-inch wheels, floor liners and assist steps. It also gets GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving tech. An available Extreme Off-Road Pack adds 18-inch wheels with 35-inch mud-terrain tires, underbody armor and rock sliders, front eLocker and virtual rear lockers, heavy-duty ball-spline half shafts, and UltraVision with underbody camera views.
The 2024 Hummer EV will arrive in early 2023 and the Edition 1 starts at $105,595. There will also be cheaper 2, 2x and 3x versions with the cheapest 2 version starting at $79,995, but you’ll have to wait until spring 2024 to get it.
