GM’s Vice Chairman Bob Lutz recently spoke to journalists in Los Angeles where he spoke about GM’s strong portfolio. But he failed to mention the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups. PickupTrucks asked him what the future holds for the small pickups and he said:

“It’s uncertain at this point,” Lutz said. “They may well [go away].”

GM has yet to announce a plan for its small pickups. Last year Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal said that GM plans to end production at its Shreveport plant in 2012 where the trucks are produced.

It looks like the GM pickups may be on their way out following the Ranger and Dodge Dakota pickups.
