In March 2020 GM announced plans to introduce several electric cars in this decade as the automaker plans to only offer electric vehicles by 2035. We’ve already seen new EVs, like the Chevy Silverado EV, GMC Hummer EV, and upcoming models like the Chevy Blazer EV and Equinox EV. But what about a small electric pickup truck?

Automotive News is reporting that GM recently invited media out to its EV studio in Michigan, where it revealed a small electric pickup, which is smaller than the compact Ford Maverick. GM hasn’t released any photos or info about the pickup, but it was reportedly a two-door with a 4- to 4.5-foot-long bed. GM reportedly showed the electric pickup to gauge reaction.

Michael Pevovar, the director of the affordable EV design studio, stated that GM is “creating these to get a reaction and then to try to modify it or move on.” If the small electric pickup does get the green light, it could grow in size to make it more appealing.
