Electric trucks may soon be all the rage, since Ford, Rivian and Tesla have all confirmed plans to introduce an all-electric truck. Well we can now add General Motors to that list, since GM has confirmed that it’s also working on an electric truck.
During a recent investor’s call, GM CEO Mary Barra revealed that an electric truck is in the works, but she stopped short of giving any other big details, including a timeframe. In January, GMC Vice President Duncan Aldred told CNBC about the possibility of an electric truck,”Certainly, it’s something we’re considering.”
When it does arrive GM’s electric truck will rival the Rivian R1T, which may arrive in 2021 and of course the electric Ford F-150 and Tesla’s electric truck are also in the near future. Sadly we’ll still probably need to wait a few years until any of these electric trucks come to life.
