Photos and some info on VW’s new Golf TDI Hybrid Concept have leaked onto the internet a few days before its official unveiling in Geneva.
The Golf TDI Hybrid Concept is powered by a 3-cylinder diesel engine which is mated to a 27 horsepower electric motor and a 7-speed DSG transmission. The powertrain achieves 69mpg (3.4l/100km) in the European cycle.
The Concept is capable of driving on electric power, diesel power or a combination of both. There is a handy indash energy monitor like the Prius and the Concept also uses start/stop technology as well as regenerative braking technology.
Visually the Concept features a revised grille, lowered suspension and low-rolling-resistance tires.
