Geneva 11' Preview: Jeep Grand Cherokee Gets a New V6 Diesel

Chrysler is going to be unveiling a new diesel powered Jeep Grand Cherokee in Geneva next month.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is getting a new V6 diesel engine that is built by VM Motori and that was developed together with Fiat. The 3.0L V6 uses Fiat’s MultiJet II system and a single turbocharger. It will be available in two versions, with the most powerful version putting out 241 horsepower and 406 lb-ft. of torque. The lesser powered model puts out 190 horsepower and 324 lb-ft. of torque.

It isn’t known if this diesel will be offered in the US.
