Ford recently decided to kill off all of its cars in the United States, besides the Focus Active and Mustang, but at least in other markets, its car models haven’t gotten the axe. One such model is the Fiesta, which is dead here, but in Europe Ford recently revamped the Fiesta and is now introducing the crossover-like Fiesta Active.

Ford Fiesta Active

The Ford Fiesta Active is similar to the Focus Active, since the “Active” part of the name basically means that the hatchback has a little more ground clearance and extra body cladding to make it look more like a crossover. The Fiesta Active rides 18 millimeters higher than the standard Fiesta hatchback and its exterior gets dark cladding, a darkened grille, a unique rear bumper, scuff plates, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Inside the interior is ready for an adventure with fabric seats that will be able to withstand muddy boots, sandy beach towels and soggy passengers.

Buyers in Europe will be able to choose from a 1.0L three-cylinder EcoBoost gas engine and 1.5L TDCi diesel engine.

While the Fiesta is dead in the United States, this could be a better entry level option than the EcoSport. Too bad we’ll probably never know.
