We’re still waiting to see the new Ford Bronco, but we have a bit of big news to share. Ford recently announced during a shareholder conference call that it is working on a hybrid version of the Bronco.

Automotive News’ Michael Martinez got the scoop. The Ford Bronco Hybrid is part of the Ford’s plan to electrify its lineup. Although Ford has announced that it will electrify the Bronco, we don’t know what hybrid powertrain the Bronco will get. There’s a good chance that it could get the same powertrain as the Explorer hybrid, a 3.3-liter hybrid powertrain with 318 horsepower.

What else do we know about the new Bronco? It will be offered in two- and four-door versions with a removable hardtop and doors. The overall design is expected to have some retro cues.

Sadly we still have to wait until 2020 to see the new Bronco.
