Ford has announced plans to hire 850 new workers to help build the all-new aluminum F-150 pickup. Ford is anticipating the need for new workers to help keep up with demand for the new F-150.
The new workers will be spread among Ford’s Rouge facilities near Detroit and even though Ford is hiring more workers now, Ford says that launch plans for the new F-150 are still on schedule.

“Combining salaried and hourly positions, Ford has hired more than 23,000 employees since 2011,” Joe Hinrichs, Ford’s president of the Americas told reporters.

The 2015 F-150 is set to arrive in showrooms by the end of the year. Although it’s exterior doesn’t isn’t a huge departure from the current F-150, the 2015 F-150’s biggest update is its new aluminum body that helps the truck shed around 700 pounds.
