The all-new 2015 Ford F-150 went on a significant diet plan with one of the goals being improved fuel economy, which explains why it now holds the title as the most fuel efficient full size gas powered pickup. Even with the gains that the new truck received, Ford is reportedly looking at other ways to make the F-150 even more fuel efficient, which could include a hybrid version.

According to a Ford source, Ford is “working hard” on an F-150 Hybrid. Global product development chief Raj Nai confirmed that Ford is working on the hybrid pickup, but no other details were released. He also stated that there’s a possibility of an diesel-powered F-150 if there is significant demand for it.
