According to a new analyst report by Goldman Sachs the “Big 3” all had sales declines last month.
The auto industry as a whole is being hurt by the sub-prime housing issues with sales this year being the lowest in years. According to the report GM sales declined 3 percent, Ford 16 percent and Chrysler sales dropped 7 percent compared to September 2006.
On the other end of the spectrum, Honda is expected to post a 16 percent increase and Nissan is expected to have a 3 percent increase in sales last month. Toyota on the other hand expects sales to be flat or slightly down compared to the record month they had last year.
You can expect the official details to come out in the next few days as automakers report their final sales for last month.
