Ferrari has released the first official photos and details about the hotter version of the 488 GTB – the 488 Pista. The name Pista, which is Italian for “track” gives a hint at the capability of the 488 Pista, which is going to debut next month at the Geneva Motor Show.

The Ferrari 488 Pista is powered by a 3.9L twin-turbocharged V8 that generates 711 horsepower and 568 lb-ft. of torque. That equates to 50 more horsepower and 7 more lb-ft. over the 488 GTB. To get it ready for the track, Ferrari’s engineers managed to remove 198 pounds from the car’s weight to bring it down to only 2,822 pounds.

As you’d expect the 488 Pista is no slouch with it only needing 2.85 seconds to reach 62 mph and 7.6 seconds to reach 124 mph. It has a top speed over 211 mph. To compare, the 488 GTB reaches 62 mph in 3.0 seconds and it can only reach speeds up to 205 mph.

To help it stick to the track, Ferrari’s engineers made some aerodynamic changes to increase the downforce by 20 percent. Some of the upgrades include modified air intakes, a new rear diffuser, and a rear blown spoiler.
