Now that the Challenger Demon is done, the 2019 Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye arrives to fill its shoes with a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8 engine with 797 horsepower and 707 lb.-ft. of torque. The V8 features 25 component upgrades, like a larger 2.7L supercharger (largest in any production car), strengthened connecting rods and pistons, high-speed valve train, fuel injection system and improved lubrication system. The V8 is mated to a TorqueFlite 8HP90 eight-speed automatic transmission.

The SRT Hellcat Redeye offers two final drive ratios, a standard 2.62:1 or an available 3.09:1. With all that power, it has a top speed of 203 mph and can reach the quarter mile in 10.8 seconds at 131 mph. Dodge says that at full throttle, the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye’s V8 consumes 1.43 gal/min (5.4 liters/min) of fuel, which is enough to drain the fuel tank in just under 11 minutes. In normal driving it’s rated at 22 mpg on the highway.

The 717-hp Challenger SRT Hellcat and 485-hp R/T Scat Pack models are also available with the Widebody Package and the dual-snorkel hood pays homage to the iconic Dodge’s past muscle cars, like the 1970 Dart Swinger and 1971 Demon.
