According to a recent interview with Automotive News, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has confirmed that the current Dodge Grand Caravan and Avenger models will be replaced by a single crossover in 2013.
The plan is an effort by Chrysler to ends its duplicate models like the current Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans. Chrysler is going to only offer one minivan, the Town & Country, which is due in 2014. The Dodge Grand Caravan will be replaced by a new crossover that will be based on a Fiat platform.
The Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger twins will also end as Chrysler is only planning on continuing with the 200, which will get redesigned in 2013.
