Ford and US automakers as a whole have been hit pretty hard this year due to declining SUV sales. Rising gas prices have forced consumers to move away from large gas-guzzling SUVs into smaller more fuel-efficient models. Well Ford’s emphasis on its crossover lineup is finally reaping its rewards.
The recently introduced Ford Edge, Lincoln MKX and the restyled Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner crossovers are helping boost Ford’s overall sales for this year.
The new Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX are expected to have their best selling month, this month.
Hopefully this is a sign that Ford is going to be able to turn things around.
