BMW hasn’t released the specs yet for the upcoming 8 Series and the even hotter BMW M8, but a report claims that the M8 could have around 700 horsepower. The M8 will be powered by the same 4.4L V8 as the M5, but it will get a significant horsepower boost over the M5’s 600 horsepower.
Motor.es is reporting that the new M8 could have close to 100 more horsepower than the M5, but it’s also being reported that the 8 Series will be offered with a range of 6, 8 and 12 cylinder engines. Like the 6 Series, the new 8 Series will be offered in coupe, cabriolet and Gran Coupe versions. That also means that there will be three versions of the M8.
BMW hasn’t announced when the 8 Series will arrive, but it’s expected to debut sometime next year as a 2019 model.
