Chrysler has reportedly registered the “Trackhawk” name, which is now raising speculation of what the name could be applied to in the Jeep lineup. Why Jeep? Well it’s obviously linked to the Jeep “Trail Rated” off-road tuned models, but could the Trackhawk name be applied to a high performance model?
Earlier this year Chrysler decided to get ride of the SRT brand by folding it into the Dodge brand, but Chrysler hasn’t confirmed what will happen to the 300C SRT and Grand Cherokee SRT models. There’s a chance that the 475-hp Grand Cherokee SRT could be changed to the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

There’s also a less likely chance that the Trackhawk name could be reserved for a Hell-cat-powered Grand Cherokee, but chances of that happen are slimmer.
