Chevy and Shell have teamed up to make it easier for Chevy drivers to pay for gas with the first ever in-dash fuel payment system. The new feature allows drivers to pay directly through their touchscreen in their Chevy vehicle without having to swipe a credit car or use a mobile device.

The new feature is accessed via the new Marketplace feature that’s available in some Chevy vehicles. The driver simply hits a few buttons on the touchscreen and a code will be generated that allows the user to activate a desired pump at a Shell gas station and start fueling. The new in-dash payment for Shell gas stations is currently in the pilot phase in select markets, but Chevy expects it to be rolled out nationwide in a few months.

GM announced its new Marketplace system at the end of last year, which is available on select Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles. The Marketplace function allows users to shop and make restaurant reservations via their vehicle’s touchscreen.
