Today Chevy has unveiled the updates to the 2022 Corvette, with the biggest news being the introduction of the special 2022 Corvette Stingray IMSA GTLM Championship Edition. The special edition Corvette is inspired by the No. 3 and No. 4 Corvette C8.R race cars.

The 2022 Chevy Corvette Stingray IMSA GTLM Championship Edition is based on the 3LT trim level with the Z51 Performance Package. It features Corvette Racing-themed graphics packages. Accelerate Yellow No. 3 editions feature gray graphics and Hypersonic Gray No. 4 editions feature yellow accents.

The special edition Corvette also gets a Carbon Flash spoiler and mirror caps, yellow brake calipers, Black Trident wheels, black side rockers and splash guards. Inside there’s a Strike Yellow and Sky Cool Gray color theme with GT2 seats, yellow seat belts and a C8.R Special Edition numbered plaque.

Chevy only plans to build 1,000 units of the special edition Corvette and the package starts at $6,595.

The 2022 Corvette also introduces three new colors: Hypersonic Gray, Caffeine and Amplify Orange Tintcoat. Non-Z51 models get a new low-profile rear spoiler and the Z51 design front splitter. Although the horsepower and torque ratings haven’t changed for the 6.2-liter V8, it does get an upgraded direct injection fuel system, improved engine calibration and an enhanced Active Fuel Management range.

The 2022 Corvette Stingray stats at $62,195, including destination for the coupe and $69,695 for the convertible.
