Chevy has announced the updates to the 2019 Chevy Volt, with the overall theme being “improved convenience.” The 2019 Volt charges faster, it will tell you when its tires are full and the adaptive cruise control system is easier to use.
Starting with the charging system, the 2019 Chevy Volt can be recharged in almost half the time that it took before thanks to a new 7.2 kW charging system. With the new 7.2 kW system, the 2019 Volt can be completely recharged in as little as 2.3 hours with a 240-volt outlet. The new charging system is standard on the 2019 Volt Premier model and it’s optional on the LT trim. The Volt LT comes standard with a 3.6 kW charger.
The 2019 Volt can travel up to 53 miles in electric mode, while a gas-powered generator can extend the driving range to a total of 420 miles.
Other upgrades to the 2019 Volt includes updates to the automatic engine-assisted heating system that can be set to turn on at lower temps to preserve energy and new Low and Regen on Demand profiles can increased regenerative braking capability when drivers let off the accelerator pedal
Inside a new infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen features a new Energy App, a power driver’s seat is available, and the tire fill alert system automatically sounds the horn when full tire pressure is achieved. Lastly the 2019 Volt can be equipped with a new dealer installed blackout package that includes sport pedals, black bowtie emblems and 17-inch machined-aluminum wheels with black-painted pockets.
The 2019 Chevrolet Volt will arrive this fall.
