Cadillac is reportedly considering a new diesel engine that will make the brand more competitive with Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

In order for Cadillac to really compete in Europe, Cadillac needs a diesel engine. According to Don Butler, Cadillac’s marketing vice president, a diesel engine is being considered for Europe and possibly even the U.S. Cadillac is on a mission to do whatever it takes to compete with its German competitors.

“We absolutely mean it when we say we aim to compete with the best of the best without compromises. And if that means making the right powertrain choices, then those are the choices we will have to make,” Butler stated.
