Cadillac has confirmed something that we already knew, that it is working on a new flagship sedan to compete with models like the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The yet to be named sedan will enter production in the fourth quarter of 2015 at GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant.
The new flagship, which is rumored to be called the LTS, will sit above the CTS and XTS models in Cadillac’s lineup. It’s also rumored that it will debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show, but GM will only confirm that that it’s public debut will take place in the first half of 2015.

“The objective for this upcoming model is to lift the Cadillac range by entering the elite class of top-level luxury cars,” said Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen. “Currently in development, this new rear wheel drive-oriented sedan uses completely new, custom-designed materials on a unique vehicle architecture.

Let’s hope that it borrows at least a few styling cues from the Elmiraj concept picture here.
