It seems like news keeps coming out about Cadillac’s future. We’ve already learned that Cadillac is going to change the name of all its sedans and crossovers, with the exception of the Escalade. Now Cadillac’s boss Johan de Nysschen has confirmed that Cadillac is working on a model that will sit above the recently announced CT6 in Cadillac’s lineup.
Cadillac is planning on expanding its lineup from the current five models to ten models over the next six years, which includes the new CT6 and another luxury sedan that will be called the CT8 or CT9. The CT8/CT9 model will compete with the long-wheelbase versions of the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

Johan de Nysschen also recently revealed that Cadillac is working on a successor to the slow-selling ELR plug-in hybrid. There’s a chance that it may ditch its current two-door layout, which if it were a four-door like the Volt, it would have a larger appeal.
