Back in August, Bugatti CEO Stephan Winkelmann hinted at the possibility of adding an SUV to its lineup and now this week he’s hinting again at the possibility of a Bugatti SUV.

Speaking at the Paris Motor Show, Winkelmann told Automotive News, “The brand is ready for more.” He also alluded to the fact that the brand’s current W-16 engine won’t be around forever. It’s likely that in the future, Bugatti will introduce a new hybrid powertrain, which could be used by the new SUV if it gets the green light.

For now it looks like Bugatti is still figuring out the business case for an SUV. “We need to come up with a convincing pitch to our shareholders that justifies the related investment,” Winklemann stated. Speaking about a hybrid engine, he stated that it “could be part of the future — you have consider social acceptance in terms of emissions.”
