The BMW X3 M and X4 M models are almost here. BMW hasn’t announced when its latest M models will debut, but it has released several photos of the X3 M and X4 M showing off on the Nürburgring.

The BMW X3 M and X4 M models stand out with large air intakes at the front, aerodynamic upgrades and an exhaust system with four tailpipes. Under the hood both models will be powered by a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine, but BMW has yet to announce the specs. It’s rumored that it will be a 3.0L engine with around 450 horsepower, but a Competition Package could bump it up to 475 horsepower.

Besides the new turbocharged engine, the X3 M and X4 M will also get an active M rear axle differential.

“With their M specific performance characteristics, the BMW X3 M and the BMW X4 M will set benchmarks in terms of dynamics in their respective vehicle segment,” says Frank van Meel, President BMW M GmbH.
