BMW recently announced that it will add Apple CarPlay for free to its vehicles and now Android users will be happy with this latest update. BMW has announced that its vehicles will start getting Android Auto in mid-2020.

Android users will be able to use Android Auto wirelessly as long as they opt for BMW’s fully digital cockpit. Android Auto info will not only be displayed on the center display, but also the digital instrument cluster and the head up display.

“Many of our customers have pointed out the importance to them of having Android Auto inside a BMW for using a number of familiar Android smartphone features safely without being distracted from the road, in addition to BMW’s own functions and services,” says Peter Henrich, Senior Vice President Product Management BMW. “We will offer this service to our customers starting in July 2020.”
