BMW is getting ready to introduce the seventh generation 2019 BMW 3 Series and now it’s released its first official teasers of the new sedan. BMW has released several photos of the camouflaged 2019 3 Series being put through the paces at the “Green Hell.”

According to BMW, the 2019 3 Series will have “enhanced sporty flair,” so it only makes sense that the new 3 Series spends ample time on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. To improve its driving dynamics, the center of gravity has been lowered by 10 millimeters and the rigidity of the body and suspension has been enhanced. The front and rear tracks are also now 1.2-inches wider and the suspension has been enhanced with a new damping system with lift-related dampers.

“We’re using the lift-related dampers as an active set-up element so as to create supreme driving properties in all conditions,” explains Peter Langen, Head of Driving Dynamics. “With short spring travel, a sensitive damping response ensures comfortable vibration compensation. When the car passes over large bumps, the body movements are controlled by increased damping forces.”

If you want to amp up the performance even more, the M sports suspension lowers the 3 Series another 10 millimeters and the damping forces have been increased by 20 percent. The M sports suspension also comes equipped with the Variable Sports Steering system. “This means the difference from the standard suspension is much more perceptible than before,” says Peter Langen. “We’ve also made the M sports suspension much sportier, with more rigid bearings and stabilizers, harder springs and additional body struts.”

When the 2019 BMW 3 Series arrives early next year, the first model will be the 2019 BMW 330i, which is powered by a new 2.0L four-cylinder engine that generates 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The four-cylinder engine will also be mated to an updated eight-speed automatic transmission. If you want more power, the 340i will be added a few months later as a 2020 model, which will then be followed by a plug-in hybrid version and of course a new M3.

The 2019 BMW 3 Series will officially debut in October at the Paris Motor Show.
