BMW unveiled the M1 Hommage Concept this weekend at the Concorso d’Eleganza at Villa d’Este. The concept pays tribute to the original M1, which just had its thirtieth birthday.

The overall design of the M1 Hommage draws inspiration from the original M1 and BMW Turbo Concept. The M1 Hommage concept is basically a modern day example of the original mid-engined M1.

BMW has yet to release any photos of the interior or of the car on the move. The concept is basically a design exercise and it is not known if BMW has any plans of building another mid-engined supercar.
