Bentley’s new SUV is slated to arrive in 2016 and it will have a price tag higher than the most expensive Range Rover. According to Bentley the ultra-luxury SUV will create a new segment as the most expensive and luxurious SUV available.
Bentley is targeting the Range Rover, since nearly 30 percent of Bentley owners also own a Range Rover. The Bentley SUV will share its platform with Audi and Porsche’s crossovers, but will get a 12 cylinder engine with between 575-650 horsepower.
Kevin Rose, Bentley’s global head of sales and marketing, also revealed that the SUV will be available with four, five or seven seats, but the automaker expects the seven passenger version will account for most of the sales.
With only 4,000 units expected to be produced per year, Bentley expects about a third of all sales will come from the United States.
