Bentley has decided to not produce the Mulsanne Convertible.
Bentley previewed a convertible version of the Mulsanne with the Mulsanne Convertible concept last year at the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Although it was expected to go into production, Bentley CEO Wolfgang Schreiber has confirmed that it will not be produced.
Schreiber revealed the details in an interview with Car & Driver, in which he stated that a lack of demand prompted Bentley’s decision. Basically the model would have only been successful in a few markets in the U.S. Bentley only sold 1,169 Mulanne’s last year, so the investment for the convertible version probably would not have been profitable.
