Bentley just announced the Bentayga name for its upcoming SUV this week and now we’re already hearing reports that Bentley may expand its SUV lineup with additional models to take on Land Rover.
The Bentayga is going to do officially debut later this year before it goes on sale next year, but Bentley execs recently told Auto Express that the automaker is looking at Land Rover’s lineup as a potential target. “We are keeping a close eye on what Land Rover has done with the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and even the Evoque,” said Kevin Rose, head of Bentley sales and marketing.

Bentley has already received 4,000 “expressions of interest” for the Bentayga, but it will be at least a few years before we see any smaller Bentley SUVs.

“As soon as the SUV is delivered we will keep the momentum going by adding more and more models that stay true to the brand,” CEO Wolfgang Durheimer told Auto Express.
